II.
Back in the kitchen
a small spider works
at the window by the sink
she passes one hairline leg over
as another passes under
crochets a lace-wall
of inborn thread
her sticky invisible net
has caught a stinkbug
the stinkbug
it claws air—she approaches spinning
wrapping
its legs twitch rest
spasm
then clutch
she sits with it now
her fine legs rest on the stinkbug
like a prayer
she uses her fangs
a euthanizing kiss
it stills.
audio with commentary…
When she gave a euthanizing kiss, I got chills.
What a magical description of that death scene.
Impressive!
